Thankful for cooler summer days.

Acrylic Paint on 8.5 inch by 11 inch 110 lb. card stock.

I’m naming this painting “Bob” spring / summer 2015.

My understanding is the rule of thirds applies to the entire face:

The hairline to the bottom of the eyebrows is 1/3
The bottom of the eyebrows to the end of the nose is 1/3
The end of the nose to the end of the chin is 1/3

Final thoughts:

I paint, draw, and or write daily, trying to fit it all in. I painted this a few minutes ago.

Thankful for living in a country where wrongs can be and are righted.

I’m naming this painting “Cowboy Dan” spring / summer 2015.

As you know I have many reference books, my understanding is the size and width of the mouth:

  • The mouth measures from one and a half to two eyes wide
  • The mouth fits directly under the pupils
  • The teeth fit into the rule of thirds – the height of the front tooth is 1.618 the size of the width
  • The colour of teeth vary, off white to tints of green, gray, blue, pink, and yellow.
