I am thankful to be alive, well and free!

Introduction

I have decided to blog about what I make, create; basically how I entertain myself.

I am always looking for things to do. I gather a lot of information, read books, study the Internet, and talk about what to do. Finally one day my son suggested I stop talking about it and start doing. So here I am giving it my best shot.

I love to do things with my hands. I have in the past:

Created web sites
Created vector art
Worked in my father’s woodshop making toys
Attempted to create music; played the guitar, piano, clarinet, stand up bass
Dabbled in photography
I have always sewn, knit, I love to bake, and I recently attempted to draw; paint and have decided to learn how to play the Mandolin. I do these creative endeavors for me. My objective is to have fun, learn and pass on any knowledge or insight I may have gained from the experience.

My first knitting project was a sweater for my self. It was made with heavy yarn – one might wear as a coat. I was knitting away, knitting away; finally my mother said maybe I should measure, when I held the sleeve up to my arm it shot past my hand by about a foot. My mom roared with laughter.

My first attempt at sewing I decided to make a pair of cord pants, not knowing anything about the nap of the fabric, each leg looked totally different. One leg had the nap going one way and the other leg the nap was going the other way.

Enjoy!
